Time to have the walk of shame to Vunkrel Inlet <s> and go fish some trumpet shells, and put the zebra eels in storage for a later date :p.

It was months ago... I set out to get the torque for fishing...
It pissed me off every minute.
I was there for weeks.
Four entire weeks actually. All 7 days straight til I couldn't take it anymore then left. Tried it again weeks later. Same result.
I hate Grounds of Valor.
I hate it even more now...

Yea, my resolution was horrible. I was dual boxing on

I would personally do nebs to 20 or so, then start shells.

I've heard either that or just straight to shells. The bite rate in Buburimu isn't bad at all for being 11. What's a good set up for Nebs?
The larger your level gap is between your own skill and the skill cap of the fish you're catching, the slower you will gain skill-ups. With that said; the closer you get to the skill cap, the more you will gain skill-ups. Many years ago when I was leveling fishing I remember Shall Shell being one of, if not THE BEST, skillable fish there was from 0 - 100. In fact, by the time I capped on Shall Shell I was wishing they capped higher. From that point on skill-ups were almost nonexistent. But then again, I'm an old school fisherman and had to level my fishing and get my Ebisu the hard way; myself. Unlike now where most people just fish bot and nearly every fisherman has an Ebisu. Which I must say, really puts a dent in the enormous gratification I once had by conquering such a difficult feat. Back then I could easily consider that as my all-time greatest FFXI achievement. Anyone who can relate knows exactly what I mean :D

I used to fish in that hat too. Now I fish in a rain hat cause it looks a little more fitting I think. I still wear that one sometimes though because a buddy that i used to play with signed it.
Curious though, what else do people wear on their heads while fishing. I'm guessing most people don't wear anything but curious nonetheless.

I fish in the Trainee's spectacles, I know the latent doesn't work at my level, I just like the look. They should make a fishing hat like they have on FFXIV.

Are trumpet shells items? or actual fish? Been out in vunk for like 45mins with nothing but item bites, ebisu/robber rig :|

My wife uses that. I will probably use the spelunkers at some point too. I used the troll coif for a short time as well.
