WinXP doesn't ask me whether I want to install drivers or not, it automatically installs the Microsoft drivers. Does anyone know how to work around this?

I did essentially the same thing, but I also put auto-run on the left click similar to a lot of FPS games. I did that for awhile, but really you can just download Xpadder and edit the triggers to act like buttons intead of triggers. Easy fix You could probably just use xpadder now. Ctrl and alt used to be sluggish, but they changed that in a recent update, so you could just bind the triggers to ctrl and alt. I have successfully made the triggers work with third party drivers, but it messed up my jet controls in battlefield 3, so I stopped using that method. I'll probably go completely keyboard with the new UI though; I've gotten pretty used to keyboard from playing XIV.

It is really simple, Buy the wireless 360 pc adapter, do not use the drivers included.
Go to microsoft and download the newest drivers. I have used it on xp and win7 x64 and never had any problems. All buttons work as they was intended to and well worth the money for the adapter as pc controllers are getting hard to find locally in stores. I rather pay for something to work the first time every time than spend hours trying to make things work in a half *** fashion. If for some reason you still have problems, simply go to device manager and manually choose "wireless xbox 360 drivers" and done you never have to set anything up whenever you turn off your pc. This ^ also, for my p.c I use the Logitech wireless controller like the style of it (silver color):P Siren.Beefsupreme

Sounds like some people just do not know how to invest properly.
BTW.. I was pointing out the adapter not the controller. Damn... I guess some people are in a tight budget.. LOl
I got 99 problems, but been broke ain't one... I'm a college student of course I don't have money to waste.
Siren.Beefsupreme said: » Sounds like some people just do not know how to invest properly. BTW.. I was pointing out the adapter not the controller. Also the adapter allows you to: Use Guitar hero/Rock Band XBOX360 accessories as PC controllers... Use XBOX Live headsets as if they were USB sound cards/headsets connected to the PC... mentioned already: Use any XBOX360 wireless controllers you happen to already have ... All that for just 23 bucks ... And if you're a nerdy hacker with a lot of time on your hands and a broken XBOX360 you can tore out the RF board from, you can make it work as a wireless receiver on PC without spending a buck... lmao Bismarck.Angeleus said: » Damn...
