I know of the one that you can use your installed game files to check out on PC

Is there a way (or a program) that you can view models and such without the need of installing FFXI to the harddrive?

I doubt it. Most of what you're installing in the game are the .DAT files. So if you were ever to install a program that let you view the models without installing the game, it'd still be almost as big as Final Fantasy XI is anyway.

If you just don't own the game, you could probably download the game and all of the patches elsewhere. As long as you have the .DATs, that's all that matters. You just wouldn't be able to play the game without paying for it.
