Dark Orb is dINT*2, 40% INT, 4.5fTP Water Bomb dINT*1.5, 20% INT 10% MND, 2fTP Phalanx overwrites Barrier Tusk, but Barrier Tusk cannot overwrite Phalanx. (This is with no enhancing skill+) With Barrier Tusk + Terra's Staff, 1000 needles did 680. Barrier Tusk + 44% PDT, 1000 needles did 487. Looks like a 15% reduction that's added after PDT. When you get onto the test server Wolf we should meet up and make out for sure.

Not to be rude but Phalanx is not a % but a direct damage mitigation. (ie: -22 Points of Damage removed per hit.) If you want a better view on how BT is working, I would use the same gear on 1000 Needles and only change Barrier Tusk.
Oh god where's my whoosh.jpg
Found it!

Honestly hope barrier tusk is just glitched and we really do get a standard phalanx.

Seriously, could even run the math yourself there @@

I'll even do it for you.

(1000*0.20)*0.15 = 680

(1-0.42578125)*1000 = 574 = 574
574 * 0.85 = 487

...

wait a minute

Edit: Fixed. I derped and didnt calculate each piece separately.

Well
I'm a tad disappoint
It was to the best of my intention to be able to pull all of Abyssea - Miseraux with my 100 phalanx and then (cw) burn it all down.
Burn it all down to the ground.

but then this

well, I wouldn't mind using hardened shell before a large cw burn pull, or maybe thunderbolt instead of whirl of rage for shits and giggles

but they aren't game changing at all, not in the least :<

forgot to ask, what's the casting time on thunderbolt
inb4 5 seconds or something

2 Questions.

1.I assume you dont have to set UK spells?

2.Anyone find out the mods for Thunderbolt?
Although magical spells usually did suck outside :(

lol whoosh eh? You worked too hard. He said BT adds 15% damage mitigation after 44% PDT. Was going off what he said and it was a completely wrong. Phalanx =/= % Decrease. I can see what you say now but you sounded like a moron in that post so I pointed it out. LOL for calling me an idiot.

Working on thunderbolt now.

And Inuyushi, you're the one who sounded like an idiot. You're the kind of person who looks at things one way and follows the herd instead of leads the pack. You've contributed nothing to refute the claims, or anything of value at all. Kindly shut your mouth, thanks. inb4 Krizz

You are an idiot. BT gives an effect of Phalanx and it also says effect of phalanx wears off when it ends. It's a special effect of phalanx that reduce % of damage. What is hard to understand in this? ...

Because anything new added has to go off of what your preconceptions of the buff being described is
It gives the effect of Phalanx.
But you recieve damage mitigation in the form of a percent rather than a static number
It either gives a differing effect than the typical phalanx because OHSHITWTFIT'SNEW or it isn't working as intended
The fact you're accusing Proth, one of the more experienced blus/players on this site of not understanding the mechanics of phalanx is laughable, and your general one-minded state of "well is phlunx so it got to gets teh durmgs nubers down" is also pretty amusing.
Please, tell us more of how the game works, I'm completely unaware

White Wind seems to have a pretty bad curve for Max HP:HP restored.

Naked, 1344 base max HP
384 HP Recovered

1344+90(meridian ring)= 1434 max HP
408 HP recovered

gimp HP set, 1672 max HP
476 HP recovered

More testing needed, but looks kinda meh as far as gear returns.

I wouldn't say it sucks, it's just a little less than it could be. Though it is awfully expensive, in both MP and inventory space.

No, you can't access the test server "Play" button with windower.
That's horrifying.

I'm sure we'll find a way.

While using original windowed TEST server, I logged windower and test server crashed like "another terminal logged etc." then Windower went just fine and test server button popped up. Then I played on test server with windower, dunno how exactly

I might be wrong but isn't that ~28,5% for every cast? The difference is pretty small between them.
