Some mentally deficient children decided to take out the internet archive in the name of Palestine, atleast that is the excuse they're going with.
Now why would someone take out the internet archive to begin with? Who would gain from such a thing? Because anyone who has an IQ greater of 2 can put together the fact that taking down the internet archive isnt going to free Palestine nor destroy Israel. inb4 Viciousss chimes in with "das a conspiruhucy" More like, who cares?
Hope everyone in Florida is doing alright. Viciouss stalks my ***they way Diddy stalks baby oil
Carbuncle.Nynja said: » Now why would someone take out the internet archive to begin with? Why, indeed. At dangerous risk of supporting misinformation, someone who wanted to alter perception of reality or the past would surely benefit from removing a major archive that can contradict them. (Can I have a link to something about what allegedly happened?) https://www.malwarebytes.com/blog/news/2024/10/internet-archive-suffers-data-breach-and-ddos

Viciouss said: » More like, who cares? Eh, a DDOS isn't actually removing it though. It's just stressing the hardware and making it [very temporarily] unavailable.
Everyone should care about attempts to erase historical records, but I don't see any indication this is an attempt to do anything besides get attention. That group just flaunted their DDOS, IA confirmed there was a breach and stuff was stolen.
I would hope that Internet Archive uses offline/offsite backups and nothing was lost. Nonetheless, I'm sure you can understand why IA and WBM being taken down indefinitely is still a big deal. Even the XI community had to recently make use of WBM lol Carbuncle.Nynja said: » I'm sure you can understand why IA and WBM being taken down indefinitely is still a big deal. I just don't think this has that sort of impact. A DDoS will not typically destroy any data on the website, and there's no indication I can see that the breach was destructive in nature. So, completely fake-news? Shocking, I say.
Todays Viciouss win

Will share more as we know it. Its hard to claim "nothing was lost" when the person who runs IA last comments were that they're working to preserve the data from the ongoing attack. About?
IA got hacked and taken down, thats an indisputable fact. Information was downloaded from their servers, another fact. The severity of the damage is undetermined as of my last post where a member of the IA team said theyre focused on data preservation (havent checked since), so what part of what I said was “facts I don't like” as mr “das a conspihrucy” claimed? Idk, i actually didnt read about the discussion.

My mother is traveling to China.
And asked me if I wanted some gift. Then she said she will buy a PS controller for my nephew. But then I asked: why the hell someone would go to Chine to buy a PS controller? Even if she get them cheaper, it would be a waste of space to buy something that would save at most 2 digits in money. My family actually had a chihuahua once.
Not a pure chihuahua, most likely some mutty one. He wasnt a bad dog, but he meet his fate in the worse way. Once my father was leaving to work. Our garage had a ramp before going to the street. IDK but at that day the dog was sleeping in the ramp. And IDK too, but he didnt react to the car coming. So my father ran over him. We actually liked that dog quite a bit, it was sad parting ways with him in such silly way. Got bored enough gaming that I opted to binge anime on my day off instead.
Watched about 20 episodes of Delicious in Dungeon. Even better than I thought it'd be. Raises my appetite to the same levels as Food Wars though... Good thing I don't have many episodes left. Might inspire me to get fat. |
