Even if they just let people know that the Return to Vana'diel campaign was active it would be huge. I'm sure a lot of XIV players think XI isn't even around anymore. I certainly know that no one outside of the active XI community even knows it exists.

...Which is kind of the biggest issue. The only people who ever even see anything are the people already playing. If you aren't active on forums like FFXIAH you'll miss it, because they don't even advertise it on their official social media pages. So what's even the point?

The gems are good for using what I already have, but farming gems takes just as long as farming the mats. So really just an alternative, not better.

Having more people playing XI would still be a win for XI, even if it doesn't earn the game a bigger budget. Even if all it does is bring some life back to the servers, I'd be happy.

But it's more than that. FFXI has seen significant improvement in recent years. The majority of people are under the impression that XI is either dead or still plays like it did back in 2006.

One of my XIV-playing acquaintances once tried to entice me to play with them because "There's an area that plays just like XI". I asked them what that meant. Their response was "I don't know. That's just what my friend said. But it checks out because it's one of the least fun things you can do in the game."

Wouldn't it be great if people could try out XI firsthand? Instead of everybody getting salty they were outclaimed at KB back in 2004 and spreading slander?

I tried to get tickets here and could only get Sunday night. It's completely sold out in nyc, even saw the 1 30am spots sold out and full lol. I'm guessing it's the nostalgia from old cast returning or just a really good ad campaign.
