This was my favourite rendition of Gustaberg

I really love that zone, I can't level up in a different zone. I went there a few days back to level my RDM

Y'know, I never really take the time to admire the beauty in this game. It's kinda cool to see all the diligence in the work put forth.

Now don't get me wrong, I LOVE ABYSSEA for the gameplay mechanics, I honestly think it was a step in the right direction.

BUT

And here comes a big BUT

I think artistically and audibly, the game took a big step back.

I really honestly wish they had made completely new zones for Abyssea rather than reskinning old zones, and I wish each had a different soundtrack.

Anyone ever have their character model vanish but still be able to run around and target and fight things?
Except every player character including myself is impossible to see.
Not to mention severe lag after killing a mob.

Mess with your dats? That's the only reason I could see it doing that. >____>

On that note, I turned my wyvern into the fomor wyvern. :P

Yeah but never has it affected me this severely.
Kind of just a random glitch.
Restarting POL fixed it though.

WotG did it well imo.

The zones were reskins, but they had an entirely different feel. Throwing random sea mobs into abyssea completely ruins it for me.

I like the zones in WotG, made you feel like you really were in a familiar zone 20 years ago.

I think I just have a large appreciation for how much you can actually explore. When I'm leveling in starter zones, I try to find things I haven't seen before.

I remember leveling in Saruta and stumbling upon the tablet used for that quest in Selbina. Seemed kind of epic.

I have all of those tablets, it was cool. My favourite zone is the secret beach, by the BRD scripture. It's from welsh folklore.

I was more into getting Sea the first time. Sky felt easy and though it looked cool, relatively little work. But Sea... after working months on COP, the first time I came to Sea, it blew my mind. Everything was different, and I just wanted to spend all day down there.

The gas station by my parents house blew up and caused a fire. They had to evacuate the neighborhood and now they're in a no service area and I can't call them up

Yeah, I loved it when I got CoP, specially because my BLU was in the 70s
Though, getting sky (and helping people get sky) was one of the best parts in my FFXI experience.

I enjoyed getting Sky more than I enjoyed getting Sea, but that was probably because everyone and their mom hyped the *** out of sea.

I still can't decide if my favorite expansion was Zilart or ToAU. The Black Coffin fight was really stellar. I loved the feel of it. In fact, all the fights in those felt fantastic, awesome. Aside from the initial Promyvions and a few others, most of the fights in COP felt contrived.

Don't get me wrong. COP was fun as hell. Loved every moment of it. It just felt like we were going at it more for reward than for accomplishment, though it used to be a big accomplishment.

Sea is probably one of my favorite zones.

Even after getting swept down on by a certain mob and killed. :P

Well, the path through COP was agonizing. I meant that more that once you finally got to Sea, it was like, "FINALLY!"

That and CoP 6-4 were a pain in the @$$, but extremely rewarding once you beat them.

Divine Might was the next thing I needed in Zilart.

And the navigation through the Palace for CoP.

Lol, what I remember from most of my COP missions was, "YES! WE JUST BEAT 2-5/4-3/6-4/snoll/etc. NOW SPAM THROUGH YOUR CUTSCENES! I WANT MY RING! GO BACK AND ENJOY IT LATER!"
