A few years back, I bought a gun that's like a cut down Winchester, factory made and registered as a pistol so it's legal to buy/sale/own. I'm guessing the issue I have with it was that the manufacturer, Rossi, put the same front sight on it as they do their rifles and it shoots way too high. So now I've ordered a taller front sight and have to plan out how I'm going to replace the old one.

I guess masking tape and pencil marks and see how well that works. =/

That's a Colt Paterson but real ones are cap and ball, that one is set up like an 1871, to fire cartridges.

Target shooting for stuff like that. Some are just for fun, some you can hunt with.

if you ever find yourself in the new world you should go out in the middle of nowhere and shoot ak-47's at some menacing looking cactuses or ponds of standing water. It's awesome.

I went to a shooting range once, it felt just a louder and heavier version of archery, I didn't have that much fun.
I'll stick to bows if I want to hit a target. It's quieter, suits me better.

One thing I wish I could change about my Mare's Leg is to remove that obnoxious firing pin block safety. Anyone with any experience with a lever action knows how to either not have a round chambered or half *** the hammer. The safety is probably for some import law but looks horrible and if removed leaves a big hole on the slide.

Wonder if I could just get a new slide...
