Random Thoughts.....What Are You Thinking?

Here's a lil result of what I've been working on the past week with fishing :) This was my very first desynth attempt for Olgoi-Khorkhoi, that fish is such a pain, feels so great reeling one in lol.





We crafted it into a Coeurl Beach Halter and sold it for 6.2 mil today. I haven't really been able to find a reliable gil making method for the entirety of playing XI or XIV, I always get stuck doing things I like rather than what makes me gil, because if I'm not having fun I don't see the point in it.

I'm just glad that fishing can finally make me some gil <3 makes me very happy.

Gardening is a reliable source of gil but it's also expensive if you can't mine up the topsoil yourself. It's almost pure profit if you have botanist and miner though

I blew up my first 2 Olgoi so I'm holding off on desynthing more til I get a few more levels. I should read up on gardening more. I'm the sole resident of my FC's house now so at least no one will *** with my plants, lol.

Apparently crossbreeding takes place when it's planted, not during growing. For things like Apricots or Royal Kukuru you can use Grade 2 Thanalan Topsoil but when you make Glazenuts you use Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil. The rarer seeds take longer to grow and need to be watered more often, maybe once every 10 or so hours while things like apricots are fine even with once every 20ish it seems.

If you wanna grow some glazenuts you should have at least 2 patches, if you have 3 it's even better. With 3 you can grow 1 for the Royal Kukuru, 1 to crossbreed with the RK to make Glazenuts and then 1 spare for planting together with the Glazenut seeds so you can keep replanting them for a lot of Glazenuts. Good to have some spares around if you're unlucky with harvesting.

For chocobo food you can use Shroud Topsoil for yield, unless you want to crossbreed rare seed + chocobo food for Thav onion (or rare seeds into rare chocobo food). You'll need Thanalan topsoil then. Use Fishmeal on the plants once an hour to cut the grow time by 1 hour.

You can crossbreed a lot more stuff but that list should get you started. Plant clockwise.

The combination for Glazenuts when replanting would be

Apricot - Glazenut - Apricot
Glazenut - v - Glazenut
Apricot - Glazenut - Apricot

There's a trick to getting the first Apricot to yield a seed as well, you plant an Apricot with shitty grade 1 soil (cheapest grade 1 topsoil) and then plant all the rest in a clockwise pattern. When you're done you pull the plant out and replace it with another Apricot but this time you put in Grade 3 Thanalan Topsoil. This will give it a chance to yield a seed, when it normally doesn't.

Came back online 15-20min later and the run I setup and even showed someone how to get to (when no one would volunteer) and even waited 15min when one of the people went offline and never came back at the start, barely would answer my tells. They did 3 more runs after I came back online and said sorry no room yet. It wasn't even randoms, but linkshell members. WTF?! I'm glad I took my time to setup this ***to be shitted on.

I gotta remember to start doing runs with people who are friendly and help others. The Yorcia Weald runs I did when we got the gear were those type of people. Now those were some V V V runs lol.
