How's the temp with those card being up against each other? the 590 runs hot, did they fix that problem with the 690?

Yeah even under heavy load they dont run too hot at all. I havent got an actual number for you,since only 2 games actually put them on heavy load and I havent tested temps on 1 of them,and the other was 6 months ago. But I've a good case,well cooled and those cards dont get too OTT

Also my fav part of that pic is the meh cooler.

Tbh,the 2nd one was kinda a waste of money (from other people's view)
A single card maxes every game I've ever tried at solid 60fps+
The 2nd card is just nice for actually running the same thing more power efficiently (in the aspect that it isnt 1 card under heavy load)
^ thats assuming either of the 2 heavy load games,everything else doesnt even warm up at all

Question about over clocked cards.. does that cause them to go out faster? The Radeon I had before was already overclocked from the start so I assumed it was ok lol I think this one is too

The second would be noticeable when maxing games on 3x monitors.
I know mine struggles a bit maxing on 3x for some very large scale games. but beyond that yeah its overkill.
Also uri,I kinda wish my SLI bridge looked as cool as the one in that pic (it also looks like a cooling plate on it?)

A single 690 will play every game I've ever tried,maxed,steady 60fps on 3 screens except for 2 games. And those are both games I call the heavy load ones

All non-reference cards come with some OC on them
I personally don't liek messing with OC'ing on cards, then again i have a 590 so I can't even if I wanted to.
It's not something I'd mess with the boost is marginal for the work and understanding.
so should i turn this one off if it lets me?

Every card I've owned I've overclocked. I only had the fan fail on my 9800GT after like 3 years. As long as you don't overclock passed like.. 20% there won't be any damaging effect on the card.

I'm saying with your limited knowledge don't go beyond because if you start messing with voltage it could end very badly...

If it comes factory overclock it's well within limits. (All EVGA cards come overclocked 15% or so) if it's a stock card, either leave it be, or clock it slightly higher and see how it preforms.

Building a computer is really simple. It's like 15 screws and putting legos together.
It only sucks when it involves thermal paste, molex plugs(THEY NEVER LINE UP RIGHT OMG) or backplates/cpu cooler brackets....
