Nice shepard might be a bst/smn hybrid lol Saying the classes are "in the dats" is misleading. With the except of 1 or 2, which have a few skills defined etc, there is no support or content defined for any of the above classes in the .dats right now.
The list appears to have been taken from a list resource of placeholder entries and should not in any way be taken as a list of intended classes in the game. When pressed on the subject, specifically on things like samurai, they have downplayed the potential for it in the future. I would adjust your expectations accordingly. =) Lakshmi.Jaerik said: Saying the classes are "in the dats" is misleading. A whip, a la Quistis, the Blue mage in FF8, as well as the name just hinting at a more visceral form of DD and/or mage. Yes, it's illogical to expect all of these classes to be released in the near future, but it seems like something they cut to make the September 22nd deadline, rather than something that they never intended to add. And with the files already there, there's a good chance they will be worked on for future updates. Not sure how true these numbers are, but these are number of subscribed players in FFXIV as of October.
Source: http://blog.esuteru.com/archives/1393492.html It seems the playerbase is getting lower and lower. I'm on Besaid, and when my friends joined they told me it was so crowded that there were barely any monsters to fight. I just started this past Sunday and there were plenty of monsters to fight in practically every starting area I was in. However, think that due to the fact the game has been rushed and incomplete, and given the numerous bugs and lack of actual content (where are the storyline quests?), that people are leaving the game gradually? Or, leaving and waiting until PS3 release? ...under 40000 players total? Seems too low to me.
i imagine it's pretty normal for any mmo's numbers to drop some directly after release
everyone tries it, and unless the game is truly exceptional, a few people decide that they don't like it however, if those numbers are correct, under 40k subscribers would be extremely worrying for those who want to see the game survive i'm no mathologist but under 40k subscribers for a triple A release seems well within the cancellation zone game does have a very little amount of players but there were alot of people who were waiting a bit to play this game for some bugs/glitches and just general flaws to be fixed. im sure the numbers will go up soon. those numbers do seem to be too low though to me

A version update of FINAL FANTASY XIV was performed at the following time.
* The software client will begin updating automatically the next time you run FINAL FANTASY XIV. [Date & Time] Oct. 28, 2010 at 02:00 (PDT) [Affected Service] FINAL FANTASY XIV [Important Update Details] - An issue where the client would automatically shut down when the user canceled out of synthesis has been addressed. - An issue where users would sometimes be unable to remove items from their Bazaars has been addressed. * If you have been affected by the above issue, you will need to add or remove an item from your Bazaar for the fix to be reflected. - An issue where the Bazaar would crash under certain conditions has been addressed. - Increased server capacity has been implemented. i guess you don't have to follow the guide on that lack of credibility population chart at the top Carbuncle.Sevourn said: i imagine it's pretty normal for any mmo's numbers to drop some directly after release everyone tries it, and unless the game is truly exceptional, a few people decide that they don't like it however, if those numbers are correct, under 40k subscribers would be extremely worrying for those who want to see the game survive i'm no mathologist but under 40k subscribers for a triple A release seems well within the cancellation zone However, numbers decreasing right after an MMO's launch is very not normal as far as I'm aware. Jaerik posted a chart ages ago that I can't seem to find, but basically, population is a fairly predictable affair. Population rises rapidly on release, as number of active subscribers starts to stop rising, an expansion is released which builds the same (smaller) curve on top of that. Hard to explain, but if the number of active subscribers is decreasing from day 1 (well, day 2), even with an extra free month, it's not looking good :( At the very least, I hope the number of subscribers remaining are enough to cover the cost of maintenance so that they keep it open. That chart is not accurate at all when I logged in last night I had about 2100 people on Trabia which is more than the chart is reflecting. Also thats just the people who were logged in not signed up. not as much on rabanaastre but there is about 1200 online atm and the chart says about 1400 so that means that about 80% of the suscribers are online atm. thats definately not true
That chart is probably the amount of players logged in during Jp prime time hours on those specific dates not total number of subscribers.
According to the chart title and original article, the graph represents daily average population across all time zones, excluding holidays and maintenance days.
A typical successful MMO has a Tie Ratio (total average concurrent logins divided by total subscribers) of approximately 10-20%. This would imply FF14 has about 180k-360k subscribers if it were a "normal" MMO launch. DAU (daily active users) versus monthly subscribers is usually about 0.5. WAU (weekly active users) versus MAU is usually about 0.8. MAU versus monthly subscribers should be ~1.0 or your game is sinking. But for purposes of estimating FF14's total subscribers versus daily average concurrent logins, multiplying it by 5 or 10 is typically the accepted shorthand for estimates within the MMO industry. More importantly though, you work for Disney? O_o

Well don't forget alot of people have decided to wait for the PS3 version. Even Xbox as well since gamescom said it's coming.
Microsoft permanently canned any potential XBox 360 release of FF14, way before launch. It's canceled.

Well just PS3 then. Still got a few thousandx10 or something wanting Ps3 version.
Bismarck.Aselin said: Like Jaerik said, that's just the average number of people who are actually online at one time. According to someone on BG who did an analysis of the Lodestone site, there were somewhere between 400,000 and 500,000 characters. Din't they recently say to "Xbox 360 fans" not to worry and rest assured that it was eventually comming to 360 and that the problem was that microsoft din't want to let it connect outside due to the policy, blah blah but it was being worked on? I haven't heard any grumblings of further developments with Microsoft since they said it was canceled. But here's to hoping.
You guys read the comments on (NSFW): http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2010/10/27/final-fantasy-xiv-player-numbers-collapsing/
I'm actually glad a lot of those people think it's crap. They would call me a fanboy or something (as if dropping a single word sudenlly makes my comments entirally irevelent but whatever..) SE put out a game with lots of bugs, some bad ideas and limited content.. but they did a great job adding continus content to FFXI and making that into a game far funner than wow ever was. I've had moments in FFXI that no other game has come close to. I say GOOD that the wow crowd dosn't have the paicence to figure that out. I have faith that SE will get XIV in order in a few months and make it into something kick ***. I'm gonna stick around. Offline

I always had faith in SE. Of course every game makes mistakes but this is a MMO with the most powerful graphics. Don't expect this game to easily be modfied. I'm acually enjoying FFXIV.
