It's a peculiar thing, how people react to Stephen Hawking's statements. Half of what he proposes is still anecdotal theory and assumption. Best guess given what we have to work with.
He can also say something 4 years ago, say it again later and people think it's brand new and his position has changed.
(See: His statement warning about contacting alien life forms, them coming to earth being like Columbus to the new world. [he said this a few years ago and again this last year and people went batshit like it was new. lol])
yea.... I don't know why people are going crazy about it now... probably cause he has a TV show. I never really took some of his theories seriously, and to say that the universe was a "consequence of physics" makes me feel like I was a mistake ; ;.

Agreed. Some theists try to argue the strawman that atheists in general worship science...not true. There are a number of things that science simply can't explain, just as there are a number of things that religion can't explain with anything other than, "God did it"...I'm agnostic because I simply don't know, and I'm intellectually honest enough to freely admit it. 8)

Scientists, physicist, etc will never know how the universe is created. There are a lot of flaws, his name is indeed just famous just because it is does not mean he is right or wrong.

?This isn't some kind of hidden knowledge. A black hole is simply a point in space that matter has compacted so tightly and has such extreme gravity that light is unable to escape it.
I believe a black hole can be created by a star collapsing on itself. I may be wrong here, but I think I remember correctly.
I do not know if this is the way a super massive black hole is created.
