God did not create the universe, says Hawking
This thread had potential, and was interesting when Saii was posting as well as Prince.
I enjoy a good debate, gj Spicy. Combo breaker Well I wasn't going to share my views originally, but I actually didn't get flamed when I did.
gg internetz. @Spicyran
Here's a little theory about these threads: Many would argue that they barely do anything... They're long, imperfect, nearly useless... Maybe these haters are right... and yet... if you understand the basic process of evolution... you know it's 99.99% "nothing important happening" and you throw in little bits of improvements here and there over huge periods of time... Over time, life ends up progressing. People and things appear and disappear, their ideas improve. They do so because they don't have a choice if they want to keep existing. The only reason everything's been moving so fast lately is because we came up with science, and we both know what science does: it questions... One "religion vs atheism" thread will not determine mankind's future but when you think about it, 20 years ago, these kind of conversations didn't even exist... It's not that they were forbidden, they just weren't possible yet. We're part of something so big we can hardly imagine its size... Something a lot bigger than any god could ever be, no matter what funky character we manage to come up with. And we cannot escape being part of that selective process. It's always been like that, and it's never going to stop. Evolution isn't positive for everyone, but it does what it does: it blindly discriminates. We're the end result yet we all have a role to play. Bismarck.Magnumatic said: Pandemonium.Spicyryan said: God on the money is still needless and *** obnoxious anyway. It's so they can rub it in our faces. OBVIOUSLY... Well fun fact for the day we only added this on money during the cold war to pretty much say we were > russia. Federal endorsement of a deity or religion violates the constition :) Hmmm? returned. sup people because I am back.
Proverbs 1:5-7 (King James Version)
5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. 7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Psalm 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good. Look I can quote too, but at least my source is reliable Phoenix.Esaias said: Proverbs 1:5-7 (King James Version) 5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. 7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. I fixed your rating man it is back to zero, he just posted a belief, why not post in the thread and counter said belief? 1: Because his belief is outdated and ridiculous.
2: Because he doesn't know it's a belief. He thinks it's a fact. P.S. I didn't rate him down... lol Ragnarok.Psyence said: 1: Because his belief is outdated and ridiculous. 2: Because he doesn't know it's a belief. He thinks it's a fact. P.S. There is no point /thread.
