Got to maccosmetics.com and then just look up people like makeupgeektv on youtube who do a variety of looks with mac eyeshadows. She'll tell you what colors she uses in each look. Since there are SO MANY colors, I like to choose which ones I buy next based on actual seeing it in action. It helps your confidence ALOT. I have two full sized palettes and I'm slowly working on a third. I don't wanna be one of those women that has 10 palettes, but I can definitely see how it happens! I also keep a mini customizable quad in my purse with whatever I'm using if it's gonna be a long day.
Ohhh, and get Urban Decay's Primer Potion. Sephora sells it. That stuff is AMAZING.
Also, brushes are also really important. I use the MAC brushes for my eye makeup. But I use BE's concealer, powder, and kabuki brushes. You would look great in BE makeup.
