Special Thanks to Aerix for collaborating in the compilation of this node!
This node is meant to be a short, concise, easy-to-refer-to list of
recommended endgame gearsets for PUP. They are not necessarily the best for every situation, so please tweak as needed.
For downgraded, replacements, or beginner sets, please view the full guide over on BG-Wiki.
*** Assume anything that can be augmented is maxed rank. Cape augments order: Thread/Dust/Sap/Dye/Resin.***
Idle sets are fairly simple and self-explanatory.
Notes:
You can replace C. Palug Ring with Eihwaz Ring in the HP/DT/MEVA set if you wish to cap MDT via Shell instead.
The MDT/MEVA set focuses on capping MDT while optimizing MEVA. For maximum MEVA/MDB (at the cost of PDT) replace Odnowa Earring +1 with Sanare Earring and Defending Ring with Vengeful Ring.
Augments:
Defensive Sets
- Cape: HP+60/EVA&MEVA+20/Enmity+10/MEVA+10/MEVA+15
Dual Regen
- Cape: Pet: MACC&MDMG+20/EVA&MEVA+20/Pet: Regen+10/Pet: MACC+10/Pet: Regen+5 (Pet: DT-5% if you want to reuse it for other sets)
Refresh
- Herculean: Refresh+1-2 (Dark Matter)
These TP sets completely ignore the Automaton and are focused solely on improving the Master in situations where a DD pet would not be useful or when using a mage Automaton.
Notes:
Include a Mache Earring +1 in any of the above sets when TPing with Godhands, Xiucoatl or other slow HTH weapons.
Animator P +1, Animator P II +1 and Neo Animator are all situationally useful depending on your Automaton. Choose accordingly.
Augments:
TP (No AM3)
- Cape: DEX+20/ACC&ATK+20/DA+10%/DEX+10/PDT-10%
- Herculean: TA+4/DEX/ACC/ATK
TP (AM3)
- Cape: DEX+20/ACC&ATK+20/STP+10/DEX+10/PDT-10%
PDT TP & DT TP
- Cape: DEX+20/ACC&ATK+20/DA+10%/DEX+10/DT-5%
Subtle Blow sets
- Herculean: Subtle Blow+10 (only one piece)
- Herculean: TA+4/DEX/ACC/ATK
These Dual TP sets are intended for whenever the Master is fighting alongside the Automaton. Achieving Haste cap for your Automaton while sacrificing as little as possible for the Master.
Augments:
All sets
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reusable) or PDT-10% (safer for endgame, but requires separate cape)
These are Pet-only TP sets, for when you are deployed with your Automaton but standing out of harms way as the Master. The Double Attack variant (Taeon) is typically used in most situations as it provides a good combination of Accuracy, TP speed and safety, whereas the Store TP variant may be used whenever you can't get Companion's Roll and your Automaton isn't taking a lot of damage. The Ranged TP setup maximizes white damage from standard Ranged Attacks while relying on Companion's Roll for TP. Swap to Pet: WS sets when approaching 1000 TP.
Notes:
Augments:
All Pet TP sets
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reused)
These Weaponskill sets are fairly simple and self-explanatory.
Notes:
Consider adding PDL Swaps to your WS sets when you are receiving significant Attack buffs and you are likely to benefit from it.
Use Mpaca's Cap and R15 Warder's Charm +1 for the Skillchain Bonus whenever applicable, particularly for Victory Smite and Shijin Spiral.
Use Ryuo Sune-ate +1 Path D or Herculean Boots with CritDmg/STR/Acc/Atk for Stringing Pummel and Victory Smite if Accuracy isn't a problem.
Augments:
Arcuballista and Daze (among others) benefit the most from
TP Bonus, while Bone Crusher benefits greatly from Double Attack as it transfers fTP across all hits.
Notes:
The Sharpshot cape slot is Dispersal Mantle with a TP Bonus+500 augment, not Visucius's Mantle.
Replace Thurandaut Ring +1 with either Cath Palug Ring or Varar Ring +1 if you've already chosen a different SoA ring.
The Pet TP Bonus 2 set may perform a bit worse for maximum DPS (with buff/debuff support), but doesn't require you to augment extra Herculean pieces (Pet: DEX/Acc/Atk)
Both Bone Crusher sets require Mythic AM3 for maximum performance. However, if this is not feasible, Xiucoatl C and Sakpata's Fists are your next best options.
The Bone Crusher 2 set may perform a bit worse/less consistently for maximum DPS (with buff/debuff support), but doesn't require you to augment extra Herculean pieces (Pet: VIT/Acc/Atk/DA)
Augments:
Pet TP Bonus
- Herculean: Pet: DEX/Acc/Atk
Bone Crusher
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reused)
- Herculean: Pet: VIT/Acc/Atk/DA
Bone Crusher 2
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reused)
- Taeon: ACC+25/DA+5%/DT-4%
The Turtle Set is intended for maximum survival for the Automaton, with next to no offensive power (ex: super tanking the all the Fomor from fetters in Dynamis[D] wave 3). The Bruiser set is something that is more commonly used as it gives your Automaton more damage throughput (and thus, Enmity generation). The Enmity set is for Strobe and Flashbulb respectively, though there is unfortunately no easy way for Gearswap to swap to these automatically, meaning you need to swap manually or use one of the workarounds created by the community.
Notes: Switch the Head slot to Anwig Salade in situations where maximum MDT is needed.
Augments:
Anwig
- Pet: Haste+5%/Damage Taken-10%
Turtle Tank
- Cape: Pet: MACC&MDMG+20/EVA&MEVA+20/Pet: Regen+10/Pet: MACC+10/Pet: DT-5% (reused)
Bruiser TP
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reused)
- Taeon: ACC+25/DA+5%/DT-4%
The Idle/Precast set is intended to maximize Fast Cast while providing some Regen/Refresh. The Nuking set is for M.Acc and M.Atk Bonus, whereas the Curing set provides Pet: Cure Potency, as well as Fast Cast and Haste for recasts.
Notes:
Augments:
All Pet Casting sets
- Cape: Pet: MACC&MDMG+20/EVA&MEVA+20/Pet: Regen+10/Pet: MACC+10/Pet: DT-5% (reused)
Pet Precast/Curing
Pet Nuking
- Herculean: Pet: INT+10-15/MAB+30
During Overdrive, you'll typically employ either the Valoredge Head/Sharpshot Body or a combination using the Valoredge frame, and both have different attributes they want to boost during your SP. Both these sets cap your Automatons equipment Haste, while also giving the appropriate modifiers that they most want (TP Bonus for Sharpshot, Double Attack for Valoredge). The Valoredge set has the added benefit of being tankier due to the Pet: Damage taken-% values on the Taeon, but in most cases Overdrive will make your Automaton significantly more durable anyway, usually letting it simply tank through most fights without the added protection. It is recommended you fulltime these sets and not bother with manual swapping, as the unpredictable Automaton AI and sudden actions can result in DPS loss due to unoptimized WSs.
Notes:
Both of the Nyame Overdrive sets require Bean Daifuku to cap Pet gear haste.
All Valoredge sets use Mythic AM3 for maximum performance. If not available, then Xiucoatl C or Sakpata's Fists are the next best options.
Augments:
Both Nyame OD Sets
Overdrive (SS)
- The Sharpshot cape slot is Dispersal Mantle with a TP Bonus+500 augment, not Visucius's Mantle.
Overdrive (VE)
- Cape: Pet: ACC&ATK+20/ACC&ATK+20/Pet: Haste+10%/Pet: ACC+10/Pet: PDT-10% (reused)
- Taeon: ACC+25/DA+5%/DT-4%
Utility sets are exactly as you might expect: useful for very specific actions or niches.
Notes:
The Stoneskin set uses Fast Cast items in most slots to reduce the recast.
You can augment Taeon gear with both Repair+5% and Phalanx+3 to save inventory space if you don't yet have Dark Matter augments.
Augments:
Repair
- Herculean: Repair Potency+8%
- Cape: HP+60/EVA&MEVA+20/Enmity+10/MEVA+10/MEVA+15 (reused)
Master Enmity
- Cape: HP+60/EVA&MEVA+20/Enmity+10/MEVA+10/MEVA+15 (reused)
Fast Cast & Stoneskin
Waltz
- Cape: CHR+20/EVA&MEVA+20/Waltz Potency+10%/CHR+10/PDT-10%
- Herculean: Waltz Potency+9-10%
Phalanx
- Herculean: Phalanx+4-5 (Dark Matter)
- Taeon: Phalanx+3/(optional) Repair Potency+5%
