Dark crystals and Fire crystals both work well, though dark crystals tend to be a bit more successful. It's not just about the crystal, it's about what day you plant, what day you feed it a crystal, and what moon phase you harvest.
Best recipe is to get the rice is Grain Seed + fire Crystal (not earth) in any pot. For the highest amount to harvest, I suggest an Earthen Flowerpot this will net u 12-17 if ur lucky or if ur not u might get some ice crystals like i did once ^^

The only time you'll realistically see prices this low is after maitenance. Expect to see prices around 150-250, depending on how many game days pass between buyouts.
Highest price I have seen offered is 278ish (~3.3k for 12). You can buy 2 stacks at that price.
never used to run out of taru rice on the ah. now i have gah. <.< wondering if it might be easier to garden it. hmm :) and thank you those who put rice on ah for us cooks. we appeciate it ^^
Just saying in shiva these babies go for 11k a stack and are too easy to make if your low-level and wanna garden I suggest these for a start... Although the grain seed itself goes for 20k a stack so if it's all about the cash it midget be quicker to go that way
