I'm not quite sure why there is so much flaming of this Torque due to the 2 less Skill on it. If you are missing a tier of a buff song due to the 2 skill, then maybe it will make a difference with the Wind Torque but overall, 2 skill is NOT going to make or break your buff songs.

The +CHR can help a person that is heavily skill geared, and I can personally say that I've noticed a difference when lowering my CHR for more skill, and not having any gains, but loss overall on landing debuffs. I don't know exact numbers by any stretch on M. Acc for BRD and such, but I have played the job for every type of mob and am extremely well geared. I'd say this is a definite buy for a debuff set, and if you need the +2 Wind Skill that you get from the Wind Torque, then keep it. I just know in my current setup 2 less skill will help me less than 5 CHR on the debuffs with little or no loss on Buff songs!

I do believe if you're not at the soft cap for Chr, 1Chr is supposed to be 0.5 magic acc. Compared to 1 wind skill being "0.9" magic acc above 200 skill, this should situationally be the best debuff neck (thinking high level mobs), albeit marginally. Still inferior to wind torque for buffs, obviously.

Understanding this is crucial to recognizing the value of this torque, however small.

This is a good piece for enfeebling since you get both CHR+5 and Wind Skill to boost your magic accuracy (assuming you're using a wind instrument). However, I would never price anywhere near the current 3.5 million. At best, it is comparable (in price only) to the Wind Torque.

in response to Blade, the same thing happens every day with spider torque vs enf. torque. I think its pretty dumb but then again theres people who will consider you totally "lol" if you wear jet slops ever vs mahatma. play how you enjoy. let leetests be leetests. they will never be happy anyways.

however, wind does not offer CHR +5

Current understanding of all magic skills is that they are equal to exactly one Magic Accuracy; Never 0.9 as it translates to weapon skills at higher levels.

Furthermore, there is a sizable lack of understanding of Bard skills, including the unverified theory that Wind skill is even less potent than Singing skill or Magic Accuracy.

Assuming that CHR follows the Magic Accuracy testing of INT, one point of CHR would be worth, at worst, 0.5 M.Acc., and at best, 1 M.Acc. The CHR of this, in all likelihood until further testing is done, clearly beats two points of wind skill.

Also on a further point of clarification, the only buff that isn't easily capped with skill is Victory March. New tiers are broken every five to six skill points, so if the two Wind skill on Wind Torque is enough to break such a tier, it's a worthy piece to own in tangent with this piece.

This is clearly the best overall neck piece for bard in the game on wind instruments, and a very good neck piece overall due to the CHR+5. For those who are overloaded on gear, what could be a better space saver than this?

If you're like me, and use Heaven's Ring + Wind Torque, this would allow to use Piper's plus a second Nereid Ring, actually gaining one wind skill.

I agree with Alijah in a lot of ways. If you do not have a Wind Torque, but somehow manage to get hold of this instead -- you probably do not need a Wind Torque unless you really have a lot of cash. There is some difference between this and Wind depending on situation, but it is likely to be so small that you will never notice. More skill does make buff stronger, but 2 is not going to make your buffs suddenly go sky rocket stronger.

Frankly speaking, I think the 60 BCNM that drop Wind Torque (no, the Tonberry BCNM is a LOT EASIER than people think) is likely to be easier to handle or get people to do the NM that drops this.

currently selling for 900k-3m and no history on several servers. wind torq is about 300k give or take and even a bard w/ 260 singing and wind skill would prefer another 2 wind or singing skill...based on standards of brd equipment you wear the needed amount of chr (100-115) without any problems. the less resists the better and this doe not help as much as wind....and wind torq is cheaper. just because this is a new item and people killing it want to make extra gil off it, doesn't mean it's worth more then the classic wind torque. if this item sold on my server for 50k i would buy it and sell my wind...until then (no, thanks.)
