wow really I have to pay $5 more to get this hat when I spent like $120 in total from original game and expansions plus abyssea.... ty SE for caring for ur players douche bags
Here's how to get the Destrier Beret (even if you're not a new player):
Purchase "Final Fantasy XI Ultimate Collection Abyssea Edition" (I bought mine thru amazon.com)
1) Log in to the PlayOnline Viewer, select “OptionalServices” from the FINAL FANTASY XI top page, and then select “Reward Code Registration.”
2) Follow the onscreen instructions to enter the reward code and select which FINAL FANTASY XI character will retrieve the item.
3) After registration log in to FINAL FANTASY XI with the character you selected and go to any of the three starting nations to retrieve the item from a Festive Moogle.
• The Festive Moogles will be around the Mog Houses in the following areas
Port San d’Oria (J-9), Windurst Walls (C-14), Port Bastok (J-13)
• You can retrieve the item from a Festive Moogle in any area.
Notice
• Please ensure you registered a FINAL FANTASY XI Content-ID and created a character before registering this reward code.
All I can think about when I look at this item is that it stops being useful after level 30.
"I see an unused slot in your Mog safe...we can fix that for $19.99!"
How to use this cute little hat to level from 1 to 10+ very, very quickly:
• Sub BLM (or main BLM if that's your target) with the spell Stone learned, no matter what your main is; make a Stone macro
• EXP rings: smoke em if you got em
• Sign up for FoV page 1 or 2 outside your favorite nation and stick with it until at least level 10
• Choose your favorite buffs, but most importantly pick up Refresh and choose the Hard Cookie food buff for the extra MP & INT
• Go blaze around the countryside wreaking havoc with an itchy trigger finger and a virtually bottomless MP pool; engage the enemy or not, it matters little
You have to look at the timing of this release. This is not a lure for new players because unless new players join this game from what their friends told them about it, they will have no idea about this piece of equipment. This is to get players who already play to pay an extra $20.00 to SE to make up for the free month of April. Now, considering your monthly subscription fee is cheaper then $20.00 (unless you have a lot of characters on a single account) SE stands to make more money this month then they lost in April. This is pure business, nothing else. But we also have to understand that this is another step SE has taken into RMT dealing, but as they own the property it does not violate the terms of the contract we signed with them.
