Stallone's Dredd was a better commentary on a dystopian future, but I think the Urban Dredd was more in your face action.
Both movies have their high points. Stallone v Urban for Dredd 20XX Ramyrez said: » but I still think flying food could be an answer to our problems Offline

I prefer my flying food to be free range, thank you!

Stallone v Urban for Dredd 20XX The meta-satire nature of the Stallone version is really hard to top. The series is a caricature critique of its content. Entertaining, yet still with a valid point being made. Stallone -- by all accounts -- played the role completely straight and didn't really "get" the comic. So you have a guy hyper-seriously playing a character that's made to lampoon that very hyper-seriousness. It's layers upon layers, Hal. America got Bullwinkle J. Moose.
Canada got Angry Beavers. In the press conference with Obama first thing Trump says is he has great respect for Obama...except when he called him a disgrace and the worst president ever <_< Peaceful transition and all, but let's limit the hypocrisy a little bit.

I'll get around to watching it eventually. Wait, 2012? Have I really been putting it off that long? *** me. I'm starting -- starting -- to actually believe people when they say Trump doesn't mean a *** thing he says for more than five minutes. He thinks in the moment only. He's like a goldfish. Which would explain his skin pigmentation. I keep telling you guys, Trump doesn't believe the ***he says, he just says it. He didn't mean what he said yesterday, he doesn't mean what he said today, and he hasn't the foggiest notion what he's going to say tomorrow. that might change now that campaigning is over, but we'll see. |
