would the Repulse mantle be better gear option for Defensive slot than umbra cape. (even with latent active)

During Night it doubles in value to 12% instead of 6

Unless you benefit from prevent knockback, repulse mantle should lose to umbra.

If you need mdt, you can go with engulfer.

If you can bear switching staff, you can use earth staff to cap pdt without cape, allowing archon cape for some annul physical dmg.

archon cape is only for severe physical damage... not worth it imho.

even if you're not using terra staff, for instance locking in a Mythic for TP, you should have np reaching capped pdt.

umbra is old hat

If trying to hold TP, how do you cap PDT without some pdt back?

that's not 50%, even swapping a cap pdt dark ring for the adoulin reward wouldn't cap.

With umbra you could swap out a couple pieces to make room for some Converts damage to MP, and more defense and cap pdt. just don't see how to cap without something in that slot with pdt or ability to swap weapon/sub.
