Fantastic news story from everybody's favorite news source:

Quote:
Russian President Vladimir Putin had some choice words for Hillary Clinton during an interview this week, calling the former Secretary of State a "weak" person who's "never been too graceful in her statements."

Putin's comments Tuesday came in response to questions posed by French journalists regarding remarks Clinton reportedly made earlier this year in which she compared the Russian leader's aggression in Ukraine to Adolf Hitler’s tactics in the 1930s.

"It’s better not to argue with women," Putin said, per a transcript of the interview posted online by the Kremlin. "But Ms. Clinton has never been too graceful in her statements. Still, we always met afterwards and had cordial conversations at various international events. I think even in this case we could reach an agreement. When people push boundaries too far, it’s not because they are strong but because they are weak. But maybe weakness is not the worst quality for a woman."

What a shock. A bigot continues to be a bigot.

Forget the "who" for a moment and realize that a major world leader is responding to a fairly serious accusation - whether you consider it hyperbolic or not - with a juvenille, bigotted dismissal.

I'll be honest Hillary Clinton scares the hell out of me. Her smile looks like Pennywise from IT. Just screams, "I EAT BABIES!" Ugh shaking just thinking about it.

As far as I know Hillary isn't a world leader.

No matter how I interpret this it feels like I'm being baited, and I'm not going to bite!

Leader ? That would mean she would have to do something first.

Laughed at this a lot.

I could name any politician and then cherry-pick among those who support them to produce an identical video. This is propaganda of the most blatant sort.

I think maybe you guys are misinterpreting my statement, but for the life of me I can't figure out how you think I'm referring to Hillary as the world leader. I've reread it about 20 times.

Putin is responding to allegations of unjust invasion of another country by making fun of women.

Ono's right, though. I should have just read "Putin" and stopped, knowing it was going to be a waste of my time.

She has done so much that none of those kids can name one thing she did !

The video is more about voters than Hillary. This is your typical voter. Vote because she is a woman. That is the reason they have no clue what Hillary did or didn't do.

I bet they know who won American Idol. That is important.

Yeah that's very true but honestly I would not be surprised if those responses were frequent.

Ask most people in the street what Einstein did and, if we eliminate the phrase "Discovered the theory of relativity" (which is both inaccurate and something that 99% of people can't hope to explain), you'll be lucky to get a 10% success rate.

Ask about George Washington and you're more likely to hear about the very-likely-mythical cherry tree than any of his actual accomplishments. Maybe they'll remember that he crossed the Delaware at one point, but I wouldn't be shocked if people forget he was a general in the Continental Army.

Ask most people what Bill Clinton did and the top answer is likely to be "Got a hummer from a chubby girl." Same lack of information for Bush, Sr. Ask most people what Bush, Jr., accomplished and I'll bet the majority of answers will be inaccurate, though they'll at least point at things that probably happened.

And that's not even getting into the issue of cherry-picking when these segments are made. Britain loves them even more than we do because the people the British enjoy mocking the most are other Britons.

Can anyone name the UK Prime Minister without consulting wikipedia? How about the Canadian PM? Mexican President? US Secretary of State? Majority party in Japan's Diet?

How about the name of the person who developed the polio vaccine? Or discovered penicillin? Or developed internet auction protocols? It's probably a coin toss whether anyone can name the lead developer for FFXI right now.

The best question would be: do any of these facts have an impact on daily life? Does it matter to your life what Putin thinks of another diplomat? Does it matter to your life Hillary Clinton has done? For me, I'm more interested in knowing what was done than worrying about who gets to take the credit/blame for it. Being polio-free is far more important to me than celebrating Jonas Salk.

It's all voters. Every last one.

Buying into politicians lies or supporting them just because they appeal to you (white male, woman, black).

This is our country. 'murrica. *** yeah.
