Requiescat damage calculation/gearing

My first question is what kind of Weapon skill is it, Magic or Physical? I've read and found conflicting data. Also what kind of gear should I use to crank up the damage, this is what I have been using so far. this is my complete gear set, Iztaasu +1(augs DMG+10 AGI+1 Accuracy+7) Beatific Shield (augs MP+24 PDT-4) Impatiens, Mekira-oto+1, Shadow Gorget, Shadow Belt, Hecate's earring, Brutal earring, Gorney haubert (aug HP+120), Cizin mufflers, Aquasoul ring, Solemn ring, Atheling mantle, Cizin greaves(legs), Cizin greaves(feet). I've been working under the assumption that it is a magic weapon skill. I've done 5k in abyssea and 4k outside, also 4k to NMs my average is typically 2-3k damage, is there any way I can increase the damage?
For all intents and purposes it is a physical weaponskill in how it's damage is calculated and how you gear it. 100% MND mod, fTP carries, and an attack penalty of 20% scaling down to 0 at 300 TP.

MaB will do nothing for Requiescat so you can ditch the hecate's for Moonshade or a Mnd earring.
Cheruski Needle for ammo maybe? Or Aqua sachet. Not a lot for Pld to choose from. Jassik explained the WS itself perfectly so nothing to add on that. Siren.Kyte

Why even mention that you use Impatiens (or in other words, nothing)?
Anyways, I think this should be best or very close to it, with Mekira-oto being best on the days it works: ItemSet 312603 Random info: requiescat counts as "magic attack" in reives. But yeah, it's basically calculated like a physical weapon skill that ignores PDT.

Like Murasamemaru's hidden property for all great katana based weapon skills, Requiescat works as "non-attribute" damage to bypass pdt/mdt/dt. With the current mechanics of FFXI, it does count as "magic damage", but it's calculated using a physical damage formula. Beef it up with some attack and MND for best results when requiescing the souls of your victims to the afterlife.

It isn't exactly like Mura's effect in all cases.

VERY VERY Helpful , ty However, Would you Use more DA+ or more ATK+ wondering cuz of Prosilio belt (ATK+25 STR+9 DA-5%) even knowing DA does proc the STR and ATK+ would make it up for , would it not ? still kinda confused about that, if anyone would mind clearing that up for me would be awesome, thanks. Also for Neck Shadow Gorget or ATK+ or DA+ or CRIT+ ? being a multi hit i take it CRIT right ? Crit rate or crit damage will have 0 effect on Req because it can't crit.
Always use Ele gorget and ele belt with Req due to how it transfers to all hits. Well at least until the add a belt with insane enough stats. ____________________________________________________________ Miki Feet (Path A) (Rank 5) ATK+10 ACC+5 Added to them ____________________________________________________________ I know body / hands / legs / feet are NOT Appropriate ones however this is what I am using til I get right settup Buremte Gloves Whirlpool Greaves Body either Miki. Breastplate OR Cizin ((idk)) (think Phorcys is nice for WS Bonus) Coments ? Sugestions ? Any armor I could improve a bit ? P.s. on that note WHY DOESN'T MY MACRO work for "Cizin Greaves" (both Legs and Feet) :( Is it cuz name is same ? they would've helped ALOT :D Phorcy's WS bonus only applies to first hit, and seeing as Req is a 5 hit WS, it's basically doing nothing for you.
You need lots of attack and MND with the proper ele belt / gorget. I'm pretty sure that due to the high amount of attack (don't forget requescat has a -20% attack penalty at 100% tp) that mikinaak body and legs are the best in slot, maybe even hands, also pretty sure whirlpool greaves will beat Cizin too
This is what I use: (don't have the gloves from tree WKR) ItemSet 265409 Not done any spreadsheeting on it as I cant even remember the last time I used PLD to deal damage other than the crab in foret amadis said: » I'm pretty sure that due to the high amount of attack (don't forget requescat has a -20% attack penalty at 100% tp) that mikinaak body and legs are the best in slot, maybe even hands also pretty sure whirlpool greaves will beat Cizin too Ahh that does help even more, however I don't got them Augmented yet so be pointless to use something that I do not Process yet (will tho) Bismarck.Kuroganashi said: » ItemSet 313014 P.s. on that note WHY DOESN'T MY MACRO work for "Cizin Greaves" (both Legs and Feet) :( Is it cuz name is same ? In the last update under 'known bugs' SE mentioned that this is an issue and they're working to fix it. I had the same problem.
It is most likely that you are using both leg and feet together, and when the game checks the leg, it checked the feet, and when it checked the feet it checked the leg. It seems like it always check the leg first so make sure you do the following: Take both your cizin leg and feet to mog sachel Put leg in your inventory Put feet in your inventory This way the game is able to check the first cizin greaves and it will check the leg slot first. It is very similar to the Dark Ring when you want to equip just 1 and you want the better 1 to be equiped first. This also explains why we rarely hear ppl having this problem when it is supposed to cause huge amount of trouble. It is most likely they are not using both pieces or they obtained the legs first and it is in their inventory first and then got the feet. Hope this helps. Been messing around with Both Settups I Had and this is what I got so far:
Phorcys body does better dmg than Cizin Mail Due to ATK+5% I take Cizin Mail WS 1,880~2,153 Phorcys Korazin WS 2,441~3,571 Did multiple WS on both settups ItemSet 313016 Seems to be optimal for what i have atm, Replacing Feet with SHARK feet soon........ and Legs might replace with ATK+ Armor maybe (More Testing otw) If Anyone got a nice settup please post it, it is all been quite Helpful on making my set better and better Thank you. |
