Cataclysm Atmas?

Before anyone goes off and says "lolpld" or "atma of the go to your mog house and change jobs", I just want to mention that I'm just on PLD because I find it easier to level up staff that way since I don't play MNK.

Anyway, so I'm sitting here leveling up staff at the moment to get Shattersoul on BLM just for fun, and I've learned Cataclysm. I've seen a WAR cleave with it before, and I know it can do some decent damage. What atma's go well with this WS? And if anyone could maybe advise what gear would go well with it, that would be lovely as well.

I'm doing around 1400 damage on 100%TP
Atmas used:
Atma of the Cosmos
Atma of the Ultimate
Atma of the Sea Daughter

anyone know better setup?

Cosmos, Crushing Cudgel, Smiting blow is what I use most the time though if you are not using a brew, I'd swap out smiting blow for Hells Guardian or Ultimate. Fairly sure you'll see better results. TP regen shouldn't be needed as you'll build TP fast off the mobs hitting you (if you got a bunch of them).

Under brew while extra MAB does help I've found adding +damage for that element, +TP bonus, +weapon skill damage seem to help more for some. Guessing the +MAB results are skewed or returns diminished a bit that high up while using brew. Under brew TP regen is never needed obviously.

Atma of the Griffon's Claw i have yet to try this since its better then Crushing Cudgel.

I use Pluto staff for extra damage any idea what type of gear i should use for weapon skill?

Dont bother with /sam.
Pld/rdm. VV MM cosmo. Plenty of Refresh, Lil regain. plus Int/Str and cosmos for extra mod. Use pluto/dark staff. Put on MAB where you can. Where you cant toss on some Int/Str and place PDT where it fits. Ascetics + cream puffs I do 2,500+ usually on most mobs up to 3500s on chigs in attowa.

Heres a Easy cata build for most to anyone to obtain. Theres many upgrades to replace peaces depending what you have available. Just get a decent Pd set for pulling if you need it, and up to you if you wana use ice spikes. Will have 0tp feed from hits but help on pulls and if using VV you will have 100+ by time u return from your pull and spikes would have worn off. And 5/5 AF3 will have a high Absorb % so most PD besides a earth staff isn't even needed. (You could pull And WS in this set)

I said with as ascetics n food. W/o temps/food i will only do about 2200. That set i posted is not the set i use either i posted a set that would work for the person looking for gear/atma advice. this was a simple set that is easy for anyone to attain. Sorry if i made it seem like that set would perform in that way.

Once your ready post a clip so we can see with gear you doing 3500s damage.

Im not here for a pissing compition and i didn ask for anyones commentsbut to manux you wonder why your dmg sux? You lol/sam try /rdm for the MaB you are only hurting yourself as /sam, but i posted a simple build, and gave results with what is possible that iv had on my own builds. belive it or not i could care less if you dnt think 3500 cata is possible there is always someone that doubts what others are capable of. I garentee there people are doin more than 3500 cata depending in atma race gear and merrits. Next time i go out to cata il be sure to post a SS and my build just to shut u up tho :)

Oh snap look at that lol 4k+ jeesh who woulda thought. Good job on the cata and ty for posting and saving me the time of doin one myself ( and i said 3500 with food/temps ascetics will give it a nice boost, 2200ish w/o temps) no other buffs are up.

Im sure on darks day a pld could go pretty close to that with obi and archon ring but thats a large number for pld to compete with. 3500 i said is not exaggeration but its max i myself have done. Im hume str/dex merrits. Im sure a taru with int merrits could do more than a peak 3500. Also fyi to those using other atmas than VV MM.. Str/int are the modifier for Cata. Reason i use them over others that have been listed.

Wonder if chatoyant would out do Plutos on day w/ obi and ring. Im sure blm with storm, obi, ring, cape, chatoyant will own. Incoming 5k+ Cata from josiah lol

Now that got me wanting to try pld/sch to storm myself lol i neva thought to do that and im not sure the MaB from /sch to /Rdm off hand if it be a loss or gain.

Ok so i just ran out did a quick test. Now mind you pld/rdm 300 tp, ascetics, stalwarts & cream puff. This set i made 1/2 azz with what i had on me. (Notice No pluto or dark staff) no ammo. I quickly tossed this set together and ran out to test MM VV Cosmos. With int merrits, a Taru or even a real Cata set could easly put up more dmg. Thank you for doubting me. Replace the "You" with "i" when you say someone cant do something.

dam its still shocking to see that I can only break damage at 300%tp and do 3k, what about 100% tp whats the damage like,
