The 6th Ministry's Secret: A Summoner's Guide
Ok, just added +23 Pet MAB to my pants.
+6 BP damage, +23 MAB an +7 DA, I can say I'm pretty happy with those results. Work in progress confirmation:
Both were done with +1 stones. yeah, planning on those too.
Very nice! Offline

Marduk's Crackows version 2.0. Obviously the double attack isn't perfect, but it still is much better, and caps pet haste.
Dammit Crevox!
Why are you doing this to me! ; ; My poor gil reserves, I still have to finish my Nirvana, darn you! "Waiting to see" No, there is no "waiting to see"...
It has already been established that this set will be the ultimate Flaming Crush set until SE decides to add something else or up the iLevel. I'm doing 38k flaming crushes last I checked (without skillchain), and I upgraded gear a lot since then.
Keep in mind flaming crush is VERY RANDOM and it will largely depend on the target, but yeah. I haven't posted my Flaming Crush set at all yet. Quote: Dammit Crevox! I'll keep posting more fancy augments. :) You know, that even though I know the obvious, that I'd still like to see your sets. Right?
Post them! Now don't be shy! I know plenty of folk in another community that are like that. Well... here's a couple pieces... Like you said, pretty obvious stuff. :) Which stones did you use for Siphon+ on Telchine?
Asura.Crevox said: » Edit: Elemental Siphon is confirmed to Leaforbs, ONLY on Telchine. ^ Thanks Shirai.
Crevox why did you go for pet Crit hit rate instead of pet DA? DA works on all physical BPs, Crit hit rate only works for Predator Claws and Ramuh's physical BP? Yeah, this is indeed too good to pass up. Marduk Feet +2! :D
Helios can also become an excellent BP piece. With BP+7, DA+something and MAB+something, I'm pretty confident they would beat perfectly augmented Hago+1 for Magical BP, and Convoker+1 for physical. I'll give priority to other slots where I have weaker gear atm (Head and Hands) but eventually I'll want to get feet too. Oh, most definitely.
Getting a second pair of feet for Blood Pacts is definitely on the list, these were initially meant to be but since I rolled haste +5 on em I went with the Avatar Melee path. Sad part of that is that I won't be able to gain inventory space from boots such as yours, since I'd still need marduk for the + skill :'(

Byrth said: So the equation is something like: Damage = (1+BP Damage)*(7*pDIF*Base Damage + (MAB/MDB)*6*pDIF*Base Damage) It's very difficult to parse avatar BPs by eye (or even with a parser) due to sample size, the fact that they can all crit, and so forth. I'm pretty convinced that crits make up the majority of the variability in flaming crush damage. I agree with this. In addition, as someone with Nirvana, you can easily see how much damage Double Attack adds by using Aftermath; it's often not much or even noticeable. Like I said, a Double Attack on a BP simply adds 1 melee swing worth of damage. Someone needs to throw some Duskorbs at Telchine to see if they get skill for even more Elemental Siphon. :) Quote: Getting a second pair of feet for Blood Pacts is definitely on the list, these were initially meant to be but since I rolled haste +5 on em I went with the Avatar Melee path. Definitely a very smart way to go about it. :) It's good to be patient. On my first pair of gloves I rolled Pet Magic Accuracy+29, so I had to hold on to those and delay getting damage gloves. It proceeded to happen in other areas well, so now I have 14 different pieces of Helios at the moment. Uh... I find it a bit surprising that by now nobody else figured clearly that Flaming Crush can crit, like it's been done for the other crittable BPs, especially after the load of discussion involving Flaming Crush that's been going on.
In the end I'm not ruling out the possibility, it might as well be, I just find it surprising there hasn't been "proof" so far. I think it would be easy to test in such an environment.
In such an environment that +12% crit would create a noticeable difference, with good enough sample numbers. If it doesn't crit the average number of the 2 halves of the test should be the same or pretty close. If Flaming Crush can hit, the second half should display a noticeable difference. Edit: This is super easy to test in abyssea, use BPs with no atmas then put on Razed Ruin/Gnarled horn/Sanguine scythe and do the same thing, the crits stand out even more this way. The only BP that doesn't seem affected out of the 70 ones is rush using this method. You were of the wrong understanding then :P
All atma effects perfectly reproduce on pets, aside maybe some strange exception I forgot about atm. It's the same for Atmacites. Apocs auto RR, that would have been hilarious if it did transfer to pets.

I'll admit my sample size for rush was smaller than the others including my old test to prove spinning dive could crit a couple years back, but if I was always critting without atmas on I would have still noticed the crit damage increase from adding RR/SS. I'll go back in later and try rush some more. Yeah... not sure if I'm going to go all gung-ho on things like MACC sets and stuff.
I'm not playing an enfeebling role that often and for those times where I may have trouble landing stuff I'll hope food will pick up for my slack. That said, I do have kind of a groceries list though... Because some of the items do make very neat Pet TP items... Asura.Crevox said: » Work in progress confirmation: Both were done with +1 stones. Any particular reason you got the Elemental Siphon augments on this armor instead of Helios? |
