General thoughts/comments thread. I read all the books, and loved season 1. Interested to hear what people think about the characters, and how you feel about the TV show going forward. Please, for the sake of all those who haven't read them yet, no spoilers here.

Anyway I'll start. Favorite characters in the books: Tyrion and Arya. Also Varys.

Favorite actor on the show: so far, Tyrion. I dont know if its because I loved his character so much in the books or if he's really that good on the show, but he has been spot on so far.

I was really excited to see Grey Wind all badass and huge in the premiere.

I hope they keep true to the storyline. There's so much ground to cover though, and apparently only 10 episodes this year again. Boardwalk went to 12 after its first season iirc, I wish they would have done the same for GoT. I think Clash of Kings was my favorite book too

have you played their board game? apparently it's very well made and...very time consuming. (i think last game my bf played was around 7 hours and it still wasn't finished??)

I just recently bought it. It is extremely well made. It takes forever the first 5 or so times because the learning curve is sort of high, but once you get used to it, it flows pretty well. I like it compared to other similar games (i.e., Risk) because there is no randomness element. In other words no dice rolls. You have to strategize way more and think ahead.

better to have 10 hour-long episodes, instead of a 2 hour movie.

Love the show. Season one was magnificent and the first episode of season two makes you feel like not much time has passed. Which is a good thing.

A series can make that mistake sometimes when jumping into a new season and tweaking the look of an actor when it doesn't make sense in the time line it's suppose to follow. (True Blood for example ick)

Yep.

She crapped out a shadow child

Btw, I remember there being a ton of action in this book, and well, we are 40% of the way through the season. Does season 2 seem too slow to anyone else

I loved the first season, my only complaint was they didn't show the battles. It was like "Hey, we won".

Qarth = Ul'dah
The 13 = The Syndicate
Dothraki refugees = Ala Mhigan refugees
Caged dragons brought into the city = Imprisoned goobbues brought into the city
Uhh Spear-toting guards = Brass Blades

FFXIV is the Game of Thrones MMO. Truth.

There wasn't that much action. The big battle happens at the end of the book and as far as I remember that's kinda it except for aryas many kidnappings and weasel soup. I don't think this season has been boring, intact I feel it's really fast paced and I always ask my mother (who watches it with me and hasn't read the books) if she's able to follow. My one complaint is all the new-not-in-book porn D:

I have a huge crush on gendry still. Loved him untie books but he's so sexy on the show.

Theres a lot of action. The brotherhood, the Night's Watch, Wolves fighting Lions, the Mountain and his gang... and yeah the

I don't want to go into much detail for those who haven't read them. But this one and Storm of Swords were the most action filled. And I didn't say it was boring either, I have enjoyed it. I guess I just expect a shitstorm the rest of the way

WTF... they sure are taking a lot of liberties with the source material this season. I am really having trouble enjoying the show this year, they are changing so much.
