For those of you that visit Bg you already know the premise of this thread but for those that don't, it's simple.

I agree with a thread like this, I made one for fishing and it brought out a lot of discussion. I will say that there are still a lot of threads created that only need a single answer, but I also think the discussion has been more open and people willing to ask small questions.

Due to Vorpal critting I'm fairly sure vorpal is the best choice, unless you'r using lots of mage atmas.

Also a thread like this is a pretty good idea :3

but i think you need to clarify what type of questions for this thread. cause the way it is, it seems like any topic for the question. is this a ffxi only question thread?

What does your average Sang blade do as far as dmg? Honestly I think I've only used it twice in a oh ***situation and it was only doing 750ish which for free hp isn't too bad. This was without a proper set though.

In Abyssea, as /RDM, around 1200-1300, with room to improve in my setup. Only real Atma I tend to use that helps with it is Minikin. It'll depend on mob level/family of course, and mostly I'm using it on fodder mobs to build Amber, so my perception may be skewed.

For the most part you can just macro your nuke set in and see good results. I'd just say to try it and see how it compares for you.

5 > 1.5

Even if you're using Minikin in addition to RR and your second melee atma of choice, Vorpal and Requiescat should easily pull ahead of Sanguine. That's especially true if using /WAR, which should be... pretty much any time you're not cleaving (/RDM) or soloing NMs (/NIN). Damage vs healing potential should be more or less a wash if solo, depends on gear.
