Random Thoughts.....What are you thinking?
It's glorious and you know it.

At least you don't have to worry about flooding or power outages like I did/had. Yeah. You guys are getting hammered. Hang in there.~ Houston is the one getting hammered. I have a couple of relatives there, but they already evacuated to their lake homes here in Canyon Lake (I thought they were idiots to do so, because when they evacuated, it looked like Harvey was going to stick in the area for days). I wished I evacuated with them. I just wanted to see what a hurricane does (last one that hit this area hit in the 70s, before I was born). Last time I do that.... /waves a giant fan at Harvey to send him to Pennsylvania. Anna Ruthven said: » It's glorious and you know it. Asura.Kingnobody said: » /waves a giant fan at Harvey to send him to Pennsylvania. I mean. Lake Erie hurricanes aren't really a concern. And when Sandy hit NY/NJ I got two days off while it rained and caused little-to-no serious problems. Tornados, on the other hand, have a habit of *** up the areas I live in. Well, you wouldn't mind the ultimate damp towel coming over to rain on your parade, would you?
Asura.Swaggernaught said: » wait what the *** this is real and 4 days ago? YouTube Video Placeholder It's real. They did the same thing to Final Fantasy Adventure (Adventure of Mana) last year, but only released it on Mobile and Vita. Asura.Kingnobody said: » Well, you wouldn't mind the ultimate damp towel coming over to rain on your parade, would you? Sure, send it our way. It will probably trickle out before it hits Missouri, but it's worth a shot. Im sorry! Argle Bargle!
Was just informed that both of my relatives who live in the Houston area, the two that evacuated to Canyon Lake, both of their houses are probably under water due to a levee breech from Columbia lakes that they both live downstream to. They both live(d) in Freeport.
Looks like my weekend plans have been determined for me...somewhat. /grabs a mop and bucket. edit: don't worry about us though, I'm 100% sure that they both have flood insurance. That's from my city, with Harvey. Carbuncle.Scarmiglione said: » Ramyrez said: » Asura.Kingnobody said: » /waves a giant fan at Harvey to send him to Pennsylvania. I mean. Tornados, on the other hand, have a habit of *** up the areas I live in. Yeah. That tore right through Fort Allen (near where I now live). Had a few coworkers whose houses got tore up. Actually back in 85' a tornado went through my hometown. It was a really nasty one. That article mentions it going down Pennsylvania Ave., which is where I lived. My brother-in-law lived down the street and it went right through his bedroom. Tore off that side of their house. Aight, fam. Hypothetical question time.
Info: At age 15, i went to get my learner's permit, my mom handed me my SSN card and sent me up to the guy working the DMV who gave me ***because she laminated it prior to giving it to me. He DID accept it but he DID give me ***for it. Because of this, my card is laminated and unsigned. which brings me to this.. The back says: "DO NOT LAMINATE" but it doesn't say it's invalid if you do so. It also says "This card may be invalid if unsigned unless age or disability prevents a signature." so I can't exactly sign it. Being that my mother laminated it before giving it to me at age 15 (so I was a minor) would this completely invalidate the card if I were getting a job, applying for benefits, claiming lottery or casino winnings, receiving an inheritance, getting married, applying for a passport, etc? I suppose it's not hypothetical if it's actually happening.
Technically it's invalid. Go to your local office and get a new one.
Go to a social security office and request a fresh one if you're worried about it.
I'm guessing most people, short of government offices, couldn't really give two shits though. I need to do the same myself. I signed mine when I was like seven (not that my cursive has improved any) and now it's beaten to hell, the edges are pulling apart, it's covered in "wallet dirt", and it probably smells like weed. Yeah, I need to do that soon.
Also don't keep your freaking SS card in your GD wallet.
It does technically invalidate the card, but it doesn't invalidate the information on the card.
So as long as you can prove that your identity is "Stinky Oklahoma McStinkface" most people don't care if it's laminated or not. Because odds are, the SSN on that card is still correct. But essentially this: Carbuncle.Stiltz said: » I'm guessing most people, short of government offices, couldn't really give two shits though. Jetackuu said: » Also don't keep your freaking SS card in your GD wallet. Besides, everyone knows that if you are going to forge a Social Security card, you need to make sure that:
1) The first 3 numbers is in the 900 range, otherwise it's fake. 2) The second 2 numbers has to be 00, otherwise it's fake. 3) The last 4 numbers has to be all the same, otherwise it's fake. fact. Was that necessary?
If you would like, I can create a thread in P&R about Hurricane Harvey, so you can throw your tantrum in there. That doesn't need to be here in RT. Edit: There, created that thread. People here are more than welcome to discuss Harvey there, even if it doesn't have to do with the government's response. I really don't want P&R crap here. The answer is No. As long as you know your SSN by heart; physical copies of a drivers license and a birth certificate will suffice. Lakshmi.Zerowone said: » Anna Ruthven said: » Aight, fam. THEN I realized I'll need it (back in reality) to get a job. >.> EDIT: Winnings up to $600 can be collected at any location that sales tickets while winnings of $601-$5000 can be collected at a certain locations selected by the lottery commission. Winnings of $5001 and up have to be collected at the lottery commission HQ in the state capital. Every state is different, but it's there to prevent fraudulent tickets from occurring at satellite locations. |
