Ok, well to start off from what i read the old stoneskin was like this

X = {Enhancing Magic / 3} + MND

Where X = amount of dmg absorbed.

So a few questions:

How much MND with capped enhancing magic do you need to cap stoneskin at 350 on RDM? Because ive always heard you just need 95 MND including your base as rdm75 and capped enhancing magic to hit the 350 cap, but when i plug that in to the formula i get about 260, thats including my 2 stoneskin items(gorget and hands), hardly 410 cap.

Last question, at 80 does the cap change? or does it just become easier to cap stoneskin?

Well how much MND do you put into your Stoneskin macro to cap it?

Because atm im capped on 75RDM at 262 enhancing(i think? i know its capped tho either way)

and if you plug that number into the formula

X = [262/3] + MND

which means 87.333 + MND

now if u subtract that 350 - 87.333 thats +200 and some MND you would need for x to = 350

Im really posting to get clarification on this because expecting us to get 250MND almost is just nuts... Im thinking i must have it wrong, but can someone post that knows 100% they have capped SS post in this thread besides just redirecting me to a link that i already said i looked at and posting basically that "they dont know".

Thanks in advance...

As per the link above, you missed the all important 3X-190.

So yes, RDM @ 75 needs a total of 95 MND to cap stoneskin (and I think gorget and hands are just added on top of that anyway).

@80 though with capped enhancing magic, you only need 87 MND.

As for actually working it out, if you subtract 190 from your enhancing magic (281 @ 80) and then subtract your answer from 350 (stoneskin cap), that number is 3x the amount of MND you need to cap.

So:

350-(281-190) = 259
259/3 = 86.33

So yeah, 87 MND to cap.

Well seeing as different races have different mnds...

But even as a taru with the least amount of mnd, my idle gear comes close

That's 87 total MND, regardless of race. But as you say, even a taru is going to have like, 65(?) base MND at 80 rdm, which means you'll only need 22 MND in gear to cap stoneskin.

@80, you get 1 or 2 more MND maybe?
Other stuff is just added on top.

Anyone gotten gorget post update? Is it harder/easier to get?
Guessing easier since NMs seem to have kept their original levels. Just looking for a confirmation though.

obtained the stone Gorget post update. Was easier for the simple fact you can solo it at 75. obtaining the Satiator remnant is the only annoying part. drop rate was 1/3 on Stone Gorget.

for rdm, if you add in relic hands and af1 legs you need considerably less mnd to cap. af1 legs even have a small amount of mnd on them. just something to think about.

either way you still have to macro in something. so i guess it's a matter of can you eliminate one or two pieces of mnd gear. or maybe no one even carries these two items around anymore. (i do)

For rdm af1 legs add exactly as much as mahatma. However mahatma is useful for cures, nukes, and enfeebles and good be full timed.

Anyways as a taru rdm/blm nekkid I am 22 mind away from capping stoneskin and I have the lowest mind I a rdm/mage can get I think. That's not much since I more or less full time 22 mnd in the form of mahatma legs, witch sash, prism cape, goliard feet and bugard strap+1.

Enhancing skill improves your spell interruption rate for the spell which is pretty damn useful, I use AF because I'd rather get the spell off.

I must admit I do kinda like the aquaviel update. While it lost it's usefulness in helping you get a -102% interupt rate build that wasn't so common anyways so it's more useful more often now
