PlayOnline Member Profiles Corrupt

Anyone know a fix for this play online user profile issue without a complete reinstall?

tried creating characters with different names, but after adding first character it goes wonky. By the third character it starts to causes pol to crash to desktop. Tried all built in file checks and no errors.



Found this old post from 2011, but the fix involves busting out the ffxi installation CD's. Can't say I have those handy, nor does my computer have a disk drive 2024.

I assume there are some user profiles stored in the POL folder that could potentially be deleted/replaced with ones that aren't jacked up, but having trouble identifying them if such a thing exists.

You can just remove the login W.bin file.

It'll start over fresh

When it gets corrupted like that, it's all ive needed to do. remove the current .bin, open POL and go through the prompts, and re-add everyone.
(and then make a copy of the .bin so you never have to manually add them again if it ever happens again)
