New Xbox Generation Revealed 21st May at 6pm.
Backwards compatibility isn't really an issue for me, but the Architecture can't be that different if we're getting cross-gen multiplatform games like Destiny, Battlefield 4 and Ghosts.
Same thing with the PS3 Slimline, no BC, I broke down and bought one, but I still have an aging PS2 for when I want to enjoy one of Squaresoft/Square-Enix's good games. Or if I wanna just nostalgia hard.

If it was posted elsewhere as you said, then that's fine, and i was wrong... but again that was from a source other than the stream which i wasnt aware of. I feel sheepish :) Phoenix.Kojo said: » Same thing with the PS3 Slimline, no BC, I broke down and bought one, but I still have an aging PS2 for when I want to enjoy one of Squaresoft/Square-Enix's good games. Or if I wanna just nostalgia hard. I have a backwards compatiible PS3, and I regret it. I could have got a stack of PS2's and a new PS3 for cheaper. MY PS3 has died twice. I'll fix it again, but I'm waiting until I have access to a bga rework station. (to be fair, I also have 3 360's in the same condition, they were given to me). PS4 BC isnt even a big deal to me since there really arent any PS3 games I want to play that I havent already played once, and my PS2 still works. Xbox BC is even less of a big deal.

I feel sheepish :) :p it was in a post reveal interview. I think its more that if the option is there it pleases people, no matter how it is. One less console on a TV is probably a better thing. Have that issue now with my PS2

Non BC doesnt really bother me much. I keep my older systems and still play them. I currently have a Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Nintendo Wii, Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, Turbo Duo, Neo-Geo, and 3DO. And i have emulators for NES, SNES, etc. When FFXI isnt sucking my life away i have been known to going back in my archive. Peter Molyneux brought up a good point on the IGNlivestream.
The Three OS's and the Xboxtiles running on the XboxOne are going to take a huge chunk of the system resources, leaving perhaps as little as 5-6GB out of the 8 for Gaming. It's looking like a better name for this Xbox would be XboxVista. Odin.Zicdeh said: » Peter Molyneux brought up a good point on the IGNlivestream. Being a Fable series fan... i have learned to believe around 57% of what Peter M. says. Also on IGN all games will require an installation to the HD and there will be some kind of fee to install it on a different profile.

Details are still fuzzy and could have been misinterpreted. It exists and thats enough for it to be a stupid idea.

Yeah I ... dunno about that 3 OS thing... seems like they're trying to overly impress... which they did with the 360... and it didn't really do too well until the third reincarnation... Offline

Hopefully the One in Xbox One means they have at least one fan inside cooling it.
Mandatory Kinect confirmed.

And there goes my desire for the console (if I even had any...) why the *** would they do this... why... and it just needs to be plugged in, and it's probably more ment for the apps and multi-media segments of it. I don't know why everyone is thinking this means they won't need to use a controller or something, lol Mandatory Kinect just means one thing to me.
One more piece of equipment to cause a "General Hardware Failure". Yipee. Shiva.Gib said: » Leviathan.Catnipthief said: » Shiva.Viciousss said: » Mandatory Kinect confirmed. I don't know why everyone is thinking this means they won't need to use a controller or something, lol The games still need the controller. You need Kinect for quick navigation. Huge clunky console plus a kinect, my perfect gaming center would need to be severely remodeled. Oh noes!

I don't know why everyone is thinking this means they won't need to use a controller or something, lol limited mobility means this thing is as useful as ... uh .. ok this thing isn't useful at all... My consoles never move so thats not a big deal. But I really don't care about using my hands to navigate a dashboard which will rarely be used for anything other than playing the game. Hopefully they have the option to just load the game upon startup so I don't even have to look at the dashboard, which is what I do on the 360.

I can assure this is will work just like steam does, and funny enough for Microsoft very own Windows Market Place and GFWL Market place works. I.E. You get a game, the game comes with a unique key. What you are REALLY paying for is the Key, the disc is just there so you don't have to download the game. Once you bind the key to your account, BOOM you own the game on that account, you pop in the disc, install it, then pop the disc in a paper shredder if you want. but lets say you wanna bring the game over to a friends house or whatever reason? I'll have to pay a few to install it !! Nope. How it would work is that you'd log in on your account, pop the disc in, it'll install, boom, you can play it. Or if you lost the disc or shredded it like I said earlier, you can download it again directly from microsoft. that "Paying money to download it again" is most assuredly people that don't understand digital distribution. If there is a fee, the fee will come in place to transfer that original unique key to another account. the whole digital thing is a brave new world, I can see why people are freaked out about it, but trust me, being a user of steam for 8 years. You'll learn to love it and that first time you loose/misplace/break a disc on accident, you'll be enlightened XD I understand digital distribution perfectly thanks. What if 2 kids play on their own account and have their own gamerscore/achievements and want to play the single player game on their own account?

I think the answer is yes, as mentioned its the game key you are really paying for |
